Janusz JANIK, ESL Teacher

Janusz holds an M.A. degree in Slavic languages from the Jagiellonian university of Krakow. After arriving in Australia in 1992 he also completed a Masters degree in T.E.S.O.L.(Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and a Graduate Diploma in Arts (Applied Linguistics) at the University of Melbourne. He is an experienced language teacher, having taught English and Polish at a secondary school in Krakow and at the Victorian School of Languages in Melbourne.

Janusz joined APCS as an ESL teacher in November 2003 and his main areas of interest are second language acquisition, language maintenance, language education and translating.

His hobbies include: photography, film, swimming and gym work but his real passion is travelling and language studies. He often travells to Europe to participate in seminars on Slovene and Czech languages and cultures as well as in Professional Development programmes for ESL and Polish teachers.
