APCS IS HOSTING THE BUILDING DIVERSITY CONFERENCE

“Sharing our experiences, challenges and solutions”

1. About the Conference

This one day conference aims to bring together ethno-specific and multicultural organisations, relevant government departments and other stakeholders to showcase positive practices, strategies and collaborations in the provision of culturally and linguistically responsive services.

The conference also aims to share practical tools, experiences and expertise that may help to enhance the development of other services, particularly for smaller and less resourced groups who are finding it difficult to meet the new and emerging needs of their communities.

“This initiative has the potential to build an exciting and collaborative knowledge exchange and sustainable support system between the more established and experienced community organisations and the new, small and emerging groups. The aim is not to duplicate existing successful processes but to develop mechanisms that are reflective of existing needs and gaps” explained Ms Elizabeth Drozd, CEO of Australian Polish Community Services (APCS) and conference host.

“Victoria’s multicultural community organisations are an essential part of the broader service system. The conference will showcase service excellence, the benefits of communities responding to needs and facilitate a dialogue for meeting future challenges. We urge you to put this event in your diary”.

Who Should Attend: Service providers, policy makers, researchers, community organisation leaders, academics, government department personnel, students and other stakeholders.

For more information on the conference and ways you can get involved contact Melissa Afentoulis on 8371 2306 (Mon-Wed) or by email at melissa@apcs.org.au
